Dr. Busingye Kabumba is a Qualified Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with experience in International Law, International Human Rights Law, Rule of Law, Electoral Law & Comparative Constitutional Law. He is a member of Uganda Law Society (ULS), East African Law Society (EALS), Society of International Economic Law (SIEL), International Bar Association (IBA), International Law Association and African Network of Constitutional Lawyers.
He is experienced in providing legal counsel to various national, regional and international clients, Teaching undergraduate (LLB) and graduate (LLM) courses in International Law, Constitutional Law, International and Regional Human Rights Law, Law of World Trade Organizations and Law of International Institutions and Organizations, Considering various bills presented to Parliament and playing oversight role with regard to the state of human rights and governance in the country. He was once a Country Reporter (Uganda), International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) Project.
He worked with the commercial transactions team advising banks and other financial institutions, both local and foreign, on various legal aspects of their business in Uganda.
He has experience in doing research and writing legal briefs in the area of human rights, constitutionalism and the rule of law and providing legal advice to individuals, institutions, governmental and intergovernmental bodies on various legal matters including, but not limited to, regulatory compliance and start-ups [Clients included the European Union, Parliament of Uganda, the New Partnership for African Development.
