Community Health Alliance Uganda (CHAU) formerly the International HIV/AIDS Alliance Uganda is registered as a Company limited by guarantee. CHAU’s portfolio of work spans technical and organizational capacity building of civil society organizations, community systems strengthening, SRHR/HIV integration, policy and advocacy. CHAU has a strategic partnership with the International HIV/AIDS Alliance – a UK-based International NGO. The success of CHAU’s work hinges on partnerships at the regional, national and local levels with like-minded entities, non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations and committed individuals working towards “a Uganda where no person dies of preventable diseases.”
Last year (2017) CHAU underwent an audit review that identified policy gaps in the existing policies and systems and proposed a comprehensive review of Policies with specific areas that were found wanting. As a result of the review, CHAU has since gone through organizational changes in terms of leadership, management and staffing which involved staff exit and onboarding of new staff members. In light of this evolution CHAU established that there is need to bring staffs on board Orienting and updating them on the new policies and systems. In order to achieve the above, an external consultant is thus required to support the process.
TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR REVIEW OF POLICIES
RATIONALE FOR POLICY REVIEW
At the time of CHAU inception in 2013, systems and policies were put in place to guide CHAU’s operations. The policies were to be subjected to annual reviews. It was however noted from the 2017 audit review that some of the current policies were last reviewed in February 2016 while others have not been reviewed at all. In a changing environment, good management practice requires that policies and systems are subjected to periodical reviews in order to align them to current best practices.
TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR TEAM BUILDING APRIL 2018
RATIONALE FOR THE CHANGE MANAGEMENT AND TEAM BUILDING EXERCISE
Change management guides how we prepare, equip and support individuals to successfully adopt change in order to drive organizational success and outcomes. While all changes are unique and all individuals are unique, there are actions we can take to influence people in their individual transitions. Change management provides a structured approach for supporting the individuals in an organization to move from their own current states to their own future states.
Relatedly, team building brings people together by encouraging collaboration and teamwork. Fun activities that help people see each other in a different light allow them to connect in a different setting. Team bonding activities also improve workplace projects that involve teamwork. After completing team building activities together, employees better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. This understanding helps them work even better together on future progress vital to the organization.
